A Night To Remember (for those that were sober)

Mason Jennings
May 21 will be noted as the day that the best concert EVER took place (at least in my record books). Tonight I went and saw Missy Higgins, Brett Dennen AND Mason Jennings! The stars aligned and two of my favorite people, Brett and Mason, decided to go on tour together. This was also the first time that I got to whip out my ID and prove that I was 21 or older. Although I won't deny that the seven foot tall steroid pumped bouncer still made me kind of nervous. The concert was amazing, both artists lived up to their hype. Since this was my first concert at a 21 an older club I really paid attention to my fellow "clubbers" and I think I picked up some really important life lessons.

First.... when smoking from a bong it is best to crouch down one at a time, so no one will suspect anything.

Old people can rock out to Mason too.

Weed smells like sweet smoke, or smoke mixed with a little incense.

Bouncers do not let you in, even if your 21st birthday is TOMORROW. Maybe next year hon.

"Feeling tremendous pain in you heart is what life is all about, and we should have the capacity within to love someone so much that we can make ourselves disappear." Brett Dennen

Brett Dennen says weird things after a "couple" of drinks.

This last one I heard from the crouching bong guy, I think I will adopt it as my new motto:
"If it ... makes you .. happy......... just... Effing do it!"

Overall it was a fantastic night, and since I was sober, it is not one I will soon forget.

It really was a night to remember! How sad that it was my first time at a "21 and older" club too! But it's all good- I looked "young and hip" in my cool clothes!! Love Ya!

Who would have thought you could learn so many life lessons in one night of "clubbing"? Oh and you forgot that weed also smells like a sweet and STALE smoke... an important adjective that must be included. :)

Uh hum, you forgot to document us two old foggies who had to stand by the door due to the lack of smoke-free air. It was fun to be there together. Didn't you enjoy my secret texts most of all?

Wait, did we go to the same concert? Now don't get me wrong I like Mason Jennings and Brett Dennen as much as the next guy, well maybe not as much as TyTy I can't sing every song yet. But that venue was brutal! Smoke, sweaty gym locker smell, speakers in my face loud and kids guarding thier beer like it was the last bottle on earth. Hey, am I getting old?

Next time, try a concert at Red Rocks in Colorado. Sweet venue--more fresh air. We were probably the oldest people there. It is always fun to get out and enjoy some great music with good friends.

Mr. Lewis taught me all about your third "life lesson" in 3D design. As we all know, SHS provided us all with a well-rounded, high class education.
Also,
I've learned that in Boulder you don't have to crouch down while you smoke from your bong. No shame here! Rather, you can dance around proudly with a stuffed cow while puffing away -- I saw the professor Jesse works for doing this, so I know all about it. Sweet memories! :)

Dear High Council Member (Creed)
I deeply apologize for us "KIDS" rambunctious behavior at the concert. We are truly sorry for the excess amount of weed, alcohol and FUN. But you know what the scriptures say "Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow you will be OLD!"

Sorry....I didn't forget your picture Jen, you old folks left before we got the camera out.

I heard Brett Dennen looks like forty year old red headed woman in real life. Sounds like fun. I remember the days of hanging out at bars in SLC listening to the sweet tunes of Bad Company or some other high class act. Creed told me Yonder Mountain is coming for free to the Galivan Center so count me in for that one. I want to dance with that dude you guys filmed last year.
